As the Seraphim of Daytona Beach Christian University, we are an embodiment of divine inspiration and athletic excellence.
Seraphim, in Christian theology, are the highest-ranking angels, known for their purity, fervor, and closeness to God. We take this celestial name to represent our commitment to living out our faith with zeal and integrity both on and off the athletic field.
Our identity as Seraphim signifies our aspiration to soar to the highest levels of competition while maintaining spiritual, moral, and academic integrity. We strive to be leaders who uplift our community, promote teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship, all while reflecting the light of our Christian beliefs.
In essence, we are warriors of faith, champions of character, and ambassadors of God's love through the medium of sports.
The Athletic Department at Daytona Beach Christian University (DBCU) stands as a vibrant testament to the university's overarching mission of nurturing individuals in both faith and academics. At DBCU, athletics are not merely about competition but are a profound extension of our commitment to holistic development. Our athletic programs are designed to foster discipline, teamwork, leadership, and resilience, all underpinned by Christian values. We believe that through sports, students can grow not only as athletes but as stewards of integrity and ambassadors of the Christian faith. The department encourages each athlete to excel on the field while maintaining a robust academic life, ensuring that sports complement, rather than compete with, their educational journey.
In alignment with DBCU's mission to educate and inspire through a Christian worldview, the Athletic Department's goals are twofold: to compete at a high level and to cultivate character. We schedule games with a mix of Christian colleges and select NCAA D2 programs, providing our athletes with opportunities to test their skills against formidable opponents while living out our faith in action. Our athletes are encouraged to be role models within the community, engaging in service and leadership activities that reflect the love and teachings of Christ. The mission of the DBCU Athletic Department is to produce not just athletes but well-rounded individuals who will impact the world positively, using the platform of sports to glorify God, serve others, and prepare for life's challenges with grace and determination.
